In a sly nod to our associates up at Diesel:U:Music we’ve got a Radioclit track for you today. Radioclit are presenting three bands live as part of the U:Music radio station Friday evening showcase.
The Diesel station being in Dalston it’s a only a short hop on the bus away from Radioclit’s native Hackney, the base from where Johan Hugo and DJ Tron have been churning our their sublime ghettopop and remix work for many years.
Kamphopo is a little taste of their most recent collaborations with Malawian-born, but now London based, singer Esau Mwamwaya. It’s the first track on their excellent ‘The Very Best’ mixtape. No prizes for spotting the sample, it’s Architecture In Helsinki’s ‘Heart It Races’, here given an entirely different feel.
Radioclit will be live on Diesel:U:Music 7pm-9pm tonight, followed straight after by La Roux live.
