Track Of The Day 21/9 – Young Knives

Welcome return from Oxford trio

Transgressive Records’ 5th birthday kicks off this Thursday (24th September), in London, with the first outing of new material from the geek-chic Oxfordshire trio of Young Knives.

Today’s track is a Metronomy remix of ‘Weekends and Bleakdays (Hot Summer)’, an early, enchanting storyteller that vaulted the bands popularity on its release. Metronomy have turned it into a jaunty electro pop gem. Download it for free below.

Not only will you be able to catch Henry, Oliver and Thomas in their only live appearance of the year this Thursday at Heaven (London), but you can also vote for the setlist. In a turn of fan based totalitarianism, one can choose which songs are to be played on Thursday via a simple internet poll. So the band can be prodded onto stage, on which they nervously play out selected tunes to a bloodthirsty crowd of followers until a thumb signalled decision is made on their life. I joke. This is full interaction, relish it.
