Simian Mobile Disco have plunged their fists into some of 2009’s most important pies thus far. Florence And The Machine, Peaches and Arctic Monkeys all had their albums sliced and diced by Mr Ford, and Jas Shaw (Clash interview) has just added the finishing touches to Invasion’s (your next favorite metal band) debut album.
So, when these two found the time to string together an LP of their own, it had fans of all genres flocking with anticipation. As our Clash scribe most duly noted (full review here) “‘Temporary Pleasure’ is an album that should see Ford and Shaw truly make names for themselves as artists in their own right, rather than big-name producers with a bit on the side“. The album’s foremost release ‘Audacity of Huge’ was an upbeat hip-pop hybrid, and today’s track is a remix of the latter.
Turntable duo Dekker & Johan have done an 8-bit conversion on ‘Audacity of Huge’, turning it into a DJ’s delight, in which the intro is minimal, the vocals are looped, the tones are chiptuned and the drum beat bass is literal filth. Download for free below.
