Things fall apart.
It's a universal truth that nothing lasts forever, and when it ends you have to be prepared.
When DAUNT emerged from the wreckage of a long-term project, he knew that other directions remained.
Focussing on solo material, he returned to the root of his songwriting. DAUNT explains: "Folk is the medium through which I first learnt music, and the clarity of feeling it displays through a guitar and a vocal is something I aspire to. But with beats."
New cut 'Beamish Boy' expertly brings these influences together. The beat is half-inched from hip-hop, yet the supple vocal owes more to indie or folk songwriting.
The arrangement is sparse yet overwhelming, with tinkling piano notes and hushed backing harmonies pushing DAUNT to the next level.
