Soon to be seen supporting the mighty Manic Street Preachers – whose new album ‘Journal For Plague Lovers’ (REVIEW) has been a recent mainstay on this writer’s stereo (by which I mean laptop, obviously) – Manchester quartet The Answering Machine seem assured of a positive 2009.
Of touring with the Manics, vocalist Martin Colclough has commented: “We’re dead excited to be touring with a band that we all grew up listening to. I think everyone has their favourite Manics record, and for them to ask us to support them is amazing. We can’t wait!”
Currently rolling around the country with fellow Manchester outfit Twisted Wheel, the band will release their latest single ‘Obviously Cold’ on June 1; it precedes their debut album ‘Another City, Another Sorry’, in stores on June 15.
