Disco would never have happened had it not been for the diva.
So when Chromeo began work on their new album the production team had to call in a few favours. Recently playing a storming main stage set at Wireless, the duo unveiled some surprising material from their glitzy new album ‘Business Casual’.
Amongst the stand out cuts was the slinky pop glam of ‘When The Night Falls’. One of the pair’s most concise cuts yet, the song is buoyed by the appearance of a bona fide American diva.
Solange Knowles has impeccable taste, having previously worked with Dirty Projectors. Now the pop princess has added her vocals to ‘When The Night Falls’ giving Chromeo an inescapable touch of glamour.
One of the stand out cuts from recent album ‘Business Casual’ the track was given a new lease of life as a single. Out now, Chromeo organised some special remixes to accompany the spell-binding original.
Kitsune production team Breakbot supplied a deft dose of electro, while Hercules & Love Affair also hopped on board. Producer Andy Butler crafted a remix on behalf of the disco collective, and it’s not quite the disco bedlam you would imagine.
A restrained, quite subtle remix Butler gleefully plays around with the song structure. Fresh from the release of their second album ‘Blue Songs’ the new remix finds Hercules & Love Affair brimming with confidence and new ideas.
