At one point Concrete Knives were a sensation.
The Normandy band's Bella Union backed debut LP 'Be Your Own King' was an off piste indie gem, packed with idiosyncratic melodies and ear-worm thrills.
Playing 150 shows in a little over 12 months, the cracks began to show and the group – perhaps wisely – opted for some much needed R&R.
All of which perhaps explains why a follow up has taken five years to compose. New album 'Our Hearts' is incoming, and it finds Concrete Knives using their experiences to build on the exotic, addictive sound of their debut LP.
We're able to share new song 'Gold Digger', an off kilter indie gem that erupts with an energy all of its own. The band explain…
It's a quest that leads you to virtue. To aim that quest, you have to learn patience, to observe, to gather around the meaning – why we do things. "The pan feeds the man", only if he manages to take the right path for himself, then the gold nugget is found by the gold digger… "The good comes to the gold digger!"
