Brooklyn-based band Chairlift’s ‘Does You Inspire You’ album earned itself an official major-label release in the UK earlier this month, and ‘Evident Utensil’ – featured here as our Track of the Day – was recently issued as a single.
The band – a trio comprised of Aaron Pfenning, Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly – have been steadily building on their breakthrough last year with the song ‘Bruises’, which attracted global interest via its placement in an iPod advertisement.
Originally a west coast-based duo, the pair of Aaron and Caroline relocated to Williamsburg, where they soon hooked up with Patrick; the rest, as they tend to say, is (recent) history. Catch the trio’s refined electro-pop on tour in Europe as follows…
