The last time we met up with Japan's fuzz marauders Taffy, the band were gearing up for their first British album release.
Already cult favourites in their homeland, the group's album 'Caramel Sunset' marked the beginning of their partnership with Club AC30. Essentially a shoegaze record, Taffy were able to impact their own personality, their own musicality onto proceedings.
There was the odd psychedelic flourish, or even a nod towards a straight forward rock heritage. Becoming a firm favourite with fans of the genre in the UK, Taffy managed to bring something new into an arena which is fast becoming bogged down in 'Loveless' copyists and 'Nowhere' revivalists.
A new tour should see the band gain even more followers. Travelling around the country, Taffy will be able show off the full force of their live assault.
By way of a preview, Club AC30 have handed us album cut '=3' to give away. There's a Ramones chug here, alongside the blissful euphoria that only feedback soaked volume can bring.
