Pop music is at its best when it pushes boundaries, breaks down barriers and gets downright weird.
A London four piece, Trailer Trash Tracys have a clear pop touch. The band’s melodic touch is clear, with early single ‘Candy Girl / You Wish You Were Red’ waltzing its way into record boxes across the land.
Otherworldly synth lines gave way to fragile guitars, analogue gave way to digital and pop lyrics were fused with Sufi poetry. Imbued with a sighing sense of wisdom, Trailer Trash Tracys sit in the great art pop lineage fuelled by Kate Bush, Laurie Anderson and more.
Working on their debut album, the band have been steadily writing and recording new material. Trailer Trash Tracys will release ‘Ester’ next year, with Domino taking charge of their eagerly anticipated debut album.
Releasing a string of tantalising mp3s, Trailer Trash Tracys recently invited some guest producers to re-work their material. James Ferraro has a quicksilver imagination, with his bustling back catalogue chewing up multiple labels.
Twisting and turning ‘Engelhardt’s Arizona’ into a distorted pop gem, the dark electronics subvert the light pop feel of the original. At times bordering on post-rock, the remix is a deep, dirty exploration of the sonic building blocks which make up the band.
