Track Of The Day 16/4 – Sandwell District

Mysterious Techno Renegades

We’ll be frank: we don’t know a lot about Sandwell District.

But then, neither does anyone. The label has been churning out slices of bass heavy techno for just over a year now, establishing a reputation on par with those seminal early Underground Resistance cuts.

Mixing second wave Detroit with dubstep innovations, the label remains shrouded in secrecy. Sandwell District don’t have a web presence, with the imprint only contact-able via a single fax number scratched into the wax.

Set to unveil its DJ roster with a special night at London’s Fabric club on April 24th, Sandwell District have given ClashMusic an exclusive download.

Female is one of the label’s foremost producers, with his / her cut ‘Blood Tide’ becoming a sought after beat. Regis gives the original track the once over, adding some crisp Jeff Mills rhythmic clicks to the soft, sub-bass action.
