Track Of The Day 15/12 – Brute Chorus

Festive Treats Continue

Christmas? Bah humbug.

Rampant commercialism, terrible buskers rushing through the same damn songs plus it’s so cold at this time of year! Festive treats? No thanks, mate, I’m off down Marks & Sparks to get some slippers for me mam.

Continuing our Christmas giveaway are The Brute Chorus, who are set to cap a memorable year with a rather gloomy festive release. ‘Bury Me In Hawaii’ is the tale of a man who hangs himself on December 24th.

With carol singers chirping outside the man takes his own life, asking that he be buried in Hawaii. Musically, the song takes a different direction to The Brute Chorus’ debut album with an unusual blend of Hawaiian drums, surf guitar and plaintive melodica, not to mention a double bass, ukelele and, of course, right at the end… sleigh bells.

The Brute Chorus are set to release ‘Bury Me In Hawaii’ on December 17th… you can listen to it now!
