Track Of The Day 15/4 – Christian Prommer

Berlin Producer Returns

One of the most respected producers in Germany, Christian Prommer likes to do things his way.

In the way, Prommer has used his famed Drum Ensemble to turn pioneering techno productions into jazz standards. Giving ‘Strings Of Life’ a be-bop workout, the producer connected two scenes separated both by the Atlantic Ocean and a 50 year time lapse.

Since then, Christian Prommer has returned to electronic music with his new album ‘Drum Lessons Zwei’. Containing original production alongside some inventive covers, the German techno autocrat proves to be a fiend on the dancefloor.

Taken from the new album, ‘Oxygene (Part IV)’ is a salute to synth pioneer Jean Michel-Jarre. The French electronic guru sold countless copies of his ‘Oxygene’ album, becoming the chill out soundtrack for a generation.

Prommer’s update on ‘Oxygene (Part IV)’ turns the track into a belting techno workout, a Teutonic salute to the origins of dance.
