Track Of The Day 14/12 – The Collier

'Falling Out Of The Bed'

Now here's a thing.

Clash is based in Hackney Downs Studios, an office complex in East London, and we're used to seeing people roll through.

A fashion shoot, maybe. Sometimes a video. But we still felt a little surprised to see Hackney Downs – literally the field at the back of the office – in the new video from The Collier.

It's that snap of the familiar, with the rising Southend indie crew cavorting on the green grass of East London. A biting guitar pop gem, 'Falling Out Of Bed' is a raw return, but it's still playful, and this comes through in the new video.

Laid down at Rockfield Studios in Wales – where Queen recorded 'Bohemian Rhapsody', fact fans – it's a high octane return.

The Collier comment: “We had a really clear idea of how we wanted the track to sound: a little bit raw, to the point and in your face. ‘Falling Out Of The Bed’ represents the feeling of instant shock, and sometimes panic, of relationships. Although we didn't initially plan on taking the track to Rockfield, the excitement of it being a new song that was so fresh in our minds spurred us on to record it while we were there”.
