Track Of The Day 14/9 – Pixey

'Just Move'

Every so often a song will come across that hits you right between the eyes.

'Just Move' is most definitely one of those songs. A superb piece of pop music, it's driven by that ultra-addictive guitar line, so potent and refreshing.

Then there's Pixey's vocal. The Liverpool artist has just inked a deal with Chess Club Records, and she's clearly out to prove a point.

It's a stomping single, one that captures the raw energy of dancing in complete abandon, as though no one were watching.

"'Just Move' was written and recorded in my bedroom at the beginning of lockdown. I thought it would be ironic to write a dance tune when the last thing anyone would be doing is going out and actually dancing."

"On the flip side I really missed going out and doing something that simple. It's a clear instruction – the song's meaning is as literal as it sounds. With the last few months feeling so complicated and unprecedented I thought it would be refreshing to write something with a simple request, as dancing and moving is in (most) people's nature!"

Daniel Broadley directs the eye-catching video – tune in now.
