When lockdown hit BEA packs her bags and returned home.
Convening with her family, they left the city and went to Rye, a historic town in East Sussex framed by the sea and an expanse of green fields.
It's here that BEA was able to bring her music into focus; arriving with a bundle of ideas, noice voices, and demos, she moved the family piano to a neighbour's barn and began composing alone.
Diving internally, she discussed spaces within herself that she had never before encountered, working through some powerful emotions in the process.
Returning to London – she's a student at Goldsmiths – BEA encountered independent label Indigo Kin, who will release her debut single.
Out now, 'Blue Escape' is a wonderfully immersive document, an engrossing piece of electronic pop that is defined in melody and nuanced in emotion.
A gorgeous opening gambit, 'Blue Escape' is the sound of BEA opening a door into new aspects of her life.
Tune in now.
