Lucy Lu grabs inspiration wherever he can find it.
Real name Luke Bower, he works almost continuously, this blizzard of creative activity that never slows down.
Recently coming into contact with Harvey Carson and Gabriel Gifford following prolonged spells on the road, the trio decided to hit the studio, purely to see what happens.
As Lucy Lu puts it, the move helped end "a bit of a creative drought", broadening his horizons and spurring him on.
New single 'Compos Mentis' is the result, and it's a street-edged twilight-pop jammer, one that is subdued but still manages to kick hard.
Luke recalls: "I remember distinctly how easy it felt almost like the song wrote itself sections falling into place. This speaks of the creativity that Harvey and Gabriel cultivate working together, so I feel very lucky to call them collaborators…"
He continues: "The song’s lyrics draw on imagery to create a feeling. Harvey and I are both keen on ambiguous lyrics allowing the listener to draw their own story from the song. What I found so interesting was that when the song was finished the feeling it conveyed totally aligned with that in my head, but the sound world felt like an even split of the three of us."
A real creative union, 'Compos Mentis' is a fantastic return, immersive in its creativity while engaging on a deeper level.
