Bit by bit, piece by piece, Kara Marni is building an imposing body of work.
The London artist wants to do it her own way, melding together club tropes, pop suss, and R&B songwriting to craft a singular sound.
New single '2nd Nature' was crafted during lockdown, and reflects a period when our personal ties became indelibly melded to our daily lives.
Lyrically, she's picking apart comfort and reliance, looking at the blurred lines between her sense of self, and a kind of dependance on other people.
As usual, it's done in a precocious, colourful way – '2nd Nature' is a blazing, fiery return, something exemplified in the full video.
It's a 'luxe experience, with Kara Marni's impeccable styling and chic gravitas allowing for a riveting visual experience.
Kara Marni comments…
“I wrote '2nd Nature' during lockdown about being so comfortable with someone that being around them became addictive. I really wanted to reflect another angle of the song with the video so I played on the title by utilising three elements of nature – fire, water and air. Each outfit was custom made by incredible designers and were essential in helping me embody each element throughout my performance. Hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.”
With a full EP incoming, it looks as though Kara Marni has raised the bar once again – tune in now.
