One of Europe’s busiest ports, Lisbon is a melting pot of cultures.
The point where Europe meets Africa, the city’s dance scene has recently exploded around Buraka Som Sistema. Mixing electro house with tribal rhythms, the group’s live sets have caused dancefloor bedlam across the continent and beyond.
A recent FABRIC mix introduced fans to a new name. Roulet is a 20 year old art student from Lisbon, who also toys with production. Becoming a cult figure in the city, his new track ‘Kitamanda’ could break him in the wider dance scene.
Out on Enchufada, the track has been given a variety of re-workings. Buraka Som Sistema member J-WOW has taken on ‘Kitamanda’ while Girl Unit has used some down time to add to his production skills.
ClashMusic has plumbed for Twin Turbo’s lavish, over the top re-working which turns ‘Kitamanda’ into face melting electro.
