The world is changing, and not for the better.
Each day we seem to disrupt the planet's natural rhythms even more, leading to plunging temperatures being followed by record breaking heat waves… in the middle of February.
London songwriter spiritcake – real name Philippe Nash – is attempting to reconcile himself to this, with his work frequently referencing anthropocene – an attempt to reconcile living in an already dying planet.
It's this interplay between the innately personal and the universal, the organic and the digital, that makes this emerging talent so fascinating.
Set to play Green Man this summer, spiritcake is now ready to share his brand new single 'Bel∞ved'.
Opening in soft, pastoral landscapes, it's powerful by that incredible vocal, technically brilliant but driven by sheer, unrelenting passion.
Reference points could include Thom Yorke's solo album 'The Eraser' or even that first Bon Iver record, but truly spiritcake is chasing down his own lane.
A wonderful introduction, you can check out 'Bel∞ved' below.
