So, another day and another free track, straight from the bottomless sack of tunes at Clash.
Today it’s a blast of unorthodox American-pop that is utterly addictive in its unpredictable, upstart manner. With forthcoming album ‘Skeletal Lamping’ now too close for us to be comfortable, we thought we would throw out a track straight from the latter for the enjoyment and analysis of your little ears.
‘Id Engager’ is probably one of their more structured songs, but it still manages to detour into bursts of Adam Ant-esque yelps and sudden percussion melodrama. of Montreal have a penchant for sending songs into methodical madness, they try to resist, they really do. But when it sound this good, who cares?
‘Skeletal Lamping’ will leap into availability on October 20th as a massive 15 track long player, worth its weight in pound notes. Clash had a little natter with the band in this months magazine, which you can get a sneak preview of right HERE
