Indie rock and hip hop have become increasingly insular, with few mavericks daring to risk mixing the two. Hailing from Sweden, jj have become internet sensations by mixing alt rock with songcraft borrowed from the world of R&B.
Expect processed beats, soothing harmonies and slick – dare we say commercial? – songwriting. The band’s debut album hit the blogs last year, with jj wasting no time on a follow up.
Set to be released later this year, ‘jj no.3’ is a diverse return from the band. Winning a host of new fans, the Scandinavian group have proved that they are much more than just a trending topic on social networks.
