Pizzagirl is something of a misnomer.
After all, the Aintree-based glo-fi pop specialist isn't a girl, nor does he particularly have a fondness for pizza.
Real name Liam Brown, his downcast synth-fuelled adventures tap into a uniquely British vein of pop melancholia – think Pet Shop Boys, Hot Chip – while drifting into a carefree world of its own.
Debut single 'Favourite Song' emerges on Manchester based Heist Or Hit, and it's a fun, tumbling torrent of electro-pop ideas.
Wonderfully self-effacing yet engagingly melodic, those high, keening vocal notes merge perfectly with that faltering verse, and the sweet, crisp chorus.
A fine introduction, you can check out 'Favourite Song' below.
