Folk Meets Electronic

Startling songwriter James Yuill seems equally at home on the stage or on the dancefloor.

Debut album 'Turning Down Water For Air' was a startling piece of work. Signed to Moshi Moshi, James Yuill's unique songwriting style was honed by years on London's open mic circuit.

Lush and emotionally involving, the album matched Yuill's acoustic work with his production skills. Now on his unusual new EPs 'Fire' and 'Earth' the singer has decided to split the two.

Splitting hairs or splitting the atom? Whatever, the experiment has resulted in some stunning music. James Yuill has allowed himself space to really let his songwriting breath on the stripped down 'Earth' collection.

Meanwhile on 'Fire' the singer's production skills come to the fore on a series of tracks that match Nick Drake with Derrick May.

ClashMusic have grabbed 'No Surprise (Fire)' as our Track Of The Day. Download it HERE.
