‘To Rococo Rot’ is a palindrome, in that it can be spelt backwards and forwards and still produce the same phrase.
However the German band’s music could hardly be any more groundbreaking if they did, in fact, play their entire album backwards. To Rococo Rot dwell in the uncharted regions between avant garde rock and electronica, churning out music as only Berlin based musicians can.
With the city playing home to some of Europe’s finest dance producers, electronic influences crept into the band’s music almost immediately.
Returning with their new album ‘Speculation’ To Rococo Rot seem more concerned than ever with up-ending perceptions about their music.
The group’s first new material since 2007, the gestation period has seen the German group put on those lab coats and do some serious dissection on the corpse of rock ‘n’ roll. Charging forwards, it seems that the future is their intention.
