volcano! hail from Chicago, and the trio (Mark Cartwright, Sam Scanton and Aaron With) are best-known for their rather out-there alt-rock arrangements; their two albums to date, ‘Beautiful Seizure’ and this year’s ‘Paperwork’ (both via the Leaf Label), are riddled with experimentation and bursting with more than the odd WTF moment.
