Totten Bridge Gets Introspective on ‘Better Than Me’

A momentous offering from the NYC-based artist...

Totten Bridge has shared his brand new single ‘Better Than Me’ via StephJam Music.

A propulsive moment for the New York artist, the track carries an emotional weight, a depth that concludes with an uplifting approach to heartache. Blending the boundaries between rock, pop, folk and more club-adjacent tempos, ‘Better Than Me’ extends Bridge’s magnetic production once more. Contrasting big, racing drums against fluttering piano keys, the artist’s songwriting truly takes the spotlight, sharing personal anecdotes to deliver a universal message.

First stumbling upon his love for music in his grandfather’s record store, a young Totten Bridge would go on to teach himself the acoustic guitar. Now amassing over 1.5 million streams, the artist continues to reflect on the work of Sam Fender, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Coldplay, and Imagine Dragons to create an eclectic mix of sounds within his own material. ‘Better Than Me’ is no different, a charged offering that opens up a new chapter for the artist.

Speaking on the track, Totten Bridge details: ‘Better Than Me’ is a song about facing the hard truth that sometimes life and love do not work out like planned. Sometimes it takes a while to figure it out because you’re in denial but in the crystallisation of the moment, it suddenly becomes very clear and you know that you have to move on. These fateful moments are necessary for our growth even if they’re painful because as the saying goes, “no pain, no gain.”
