Acclaimed UK singer Martina Topley-Bird is set to return with her new album “The Blue God”, released on May 12th.
Martina Topley-Bird is set to make her return to the UK music scene. After her show-stopping turn on Tricky’s “Maxinquaye” Topley-Bird became one of the most in-demand vocalists in the country, eventually releasing debut album “Quixotic” in 1998. Nominated for a Mercury Music Prize, hopes are high that “The Blue God” will repeat the success of it’s predecessor.
Trailed by new single “Carnies”, the album is recognisably Topley-Bird but has a fresh, soulful edge. Produced by hip hop super-producer Danger Mouse, “The Blue God” is a wonderful meeting of minds.
