Tom Waits To Play Bridge School Concert

Surprise guest for Neil Young-organised benefit

Tom Waits is set to play this year's instalment of the Bridge School benefit concert, organised by Neil Young.

An institution aimed at helping children with severe learning difficulties, the Bridge School is close to Neil Young's heart. Organising an annual fund raising concert for the academic platform, the Canadian-born songwriter is able to call in some favours from unexpected places.

This year's show is due to take place on October 27th, and Tom Waits is due to drop by. Announcing the news on his Facebook page, Tom Waits wrote:

"I had every good intention to stay home and work on my JD Salinger Halloween mask, but when Neil told me yesterday he was serving burnt cow's eyes on a flat tire and it's all gluten free, I invited myself!"

Stating that Tom Waits has no intentions to go out on tour, the one off show will feature material from his recent 'Bad As Me' full length. Performing acoustically, Tom Waits will be joined by a full band comprising David Hidalgo guitar; Les Claypool bass; Casey Waits, drums; and more.
