'Funny Looking Angels' due on November 28th

Tom Smith and Andy Burrows have teamed up to record new album 'Funny Looking Angels'.

Between them, Tom Smith and Andy Burrows have sold thousands and thousands of records. However it seems that when the pressure's off, the pair love nothing better than sinking a few jars and dreaming up daft schemes.

Popping by each other's houses, the pair began to plot a new album. Choosing songs which loosely surround a Christmas theme, Smith and Burrows invited friends round to flesh out the material.

Sharing a love of classic Christmas songs, the two songwriters have often lamented the fact that the spirit of December 25th has been lost beneath the drive for commerce.

Digging out the jingle bells, Smith and Burrows are attempting to peel back the layers of advertising and uncover the gift of Christmas. A bit of fun between two friends, the album became a very serious endeavour with a number of guest musicians invited to contribute.

Rising star Agnes Obel popped by to record a version of 'The Christmas Song' with Tom Smith, while other tracks include renditions of Yazoo’s ‘Only You’ and Black’s ‘Wonderful Life’.

The name 'Funny Looking Angels' is taken from a track by cult Birmingham band Delta, who Smith and Burrows cover on the album. Download the title cut below...
