Tom Morello has confirmed plans for new memoir Whatever It Takes.
The guitarist has opened up his personal archive for the project, which features unseen photographs, set lists, and intimate notes.
It's an unrivalled glimpse into his life, looking at Rage Against The Machine, his movement into Audioslave, and beyond.
The guitar remains at the forefront, and personal revelations are juxtoposed with images of his heavily-customised instruments.
He comments: "This is a book about a lifelong mission. A mission that more often can be felt rather than articulated. There are clues to the nature of the mission in the guitar riffs, the crazy solos, the lyrics, and in the shared sweat and solidarity of friends and comrades onstage and off."
"I dug deep into my garage and photo albums to find pictures that I hadn't seen in many years. Some of the photos show history in the making. Some are historically rocking. And some are historically embarrassing."
Available as a hardback book alongside an expanded box set, Whatever It Takes will be released on October 13th.
