The track finds the English songwriter opening up, the wistful melodies attached to words about personal insecurity. Stretching out, the soulful allure of the vocal is attached to brilliant musicianship, with Tom Misch nodding once more to the jazz sphere.
Co-written with revered songwriter Jimmy Napes, ‘Insecure’ is the first Tom Misch release under his own name since 2021’s ‘Quarantine Sessions’, not least his 2020 collaborative effort with drummer Yussef Dayes, ‘What Kinda Music’.
