Welsh wonder Tom Jones is set to appear on the new Comic Relief single ‘Barry Islands In The Stream’.
It’s that time again, the time when wacky people in offices all over Britain wear funny costumes in the name of charity.
Comic Relief brings together comedians, musicians and other assorted celebrities for hours of fun and games, raising millions for worthwhile causes in the process.
This year’s benefit single will star Tom Jones belting his way through a little number by the name of ‘Barry Islands In The Stream’. ‘Gavin and Stacey’ stars Ruth Jones and Rob Brydon will also appear on the single, with Bee Gee legend Robin Gibb also due to stop by.
The subject of much wild rumour, the single ties in with an ongoing ‘Gavin And Stacey’ storyline, but also works as a one off release. First performed on the show itself, the song has been beefed up by the inclusion of two bona fide musical legends.
Originally written by the Bee Gees the song became a hit for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers in 1983. Now overdue a revival, this new version will have you tapping your toes and laughing your head off.
The Comic Relief single ‘Barry Islands In The Stream’ will be released on March 9th.
