Leeds-based artist tinyumbrellas has shared their new song ‘Zombies’.
Only 20 years old, the songwriter has a remarkable sense of emotional assurance. Sharply nuanced works, their take on alt-pop thrives on honesty, on being true to themselves.
tinyumbrellas is currently prepping new EP ‘Somewhere To Fall Asleep’, which lands shortly on Sevenfoursevensix. The songwriter comments: “from my point of view, each song encapsulates an atmosphere of either night time or daytime, which I have incorporated into the artwork, using cardboard cutouts of either the sun or the moon and stars for artworks of the single releases depending on which feel they have.”
Ahead of this, ‘Zombies’ illustrates their precocious side, spinning an intriguing narrative of friendship, love, and where the barriers lie. The cute melody stays stuck in your mind, with tinyumbrellas sharpening their lyrical pen.
They add:
“‘Zombies’ tells the story of two childhood best friends who have grown up together and are each other’s favourite person. The narrator is questioning whether this relationship is a best friends to lovers story, while the other person is seemingly blissfully ignorant from the narrator’s point of view.”
Tune in now.
