First UK Music Video Awards

The Ting Tings, Bjork and Hot Chip lead the way as the nominations for the first ever UK Music Video Awards.

The shortlist for the first ever UK Music Video Awards were announced today (October 1st), with the ceremony scheduled to be held in London's Odean West End cinema on October 14th.

The Ting Tings' 'Shut Up And Let Me Go' is nominated in the 'Best Pop Video' category as well as 'Best Editing' and 'People's Choice'.

Previous Clash cover stars Hot Chip have received three nominations for their 'Ready For The Floor' promo, while Bjork and The Chemical Brothers share two nominations each.

The awards are designed to reflect the levels of excellence and originality that exist in the British music industry, and will use both public polls and special judging criteria to decided the winners.

The UK Music Video Awards will take place at London's Odeon West End cinema on October 14th.
