Ticket Site Closed Down

Fears Of Fraud

Online ticket agency Paperticker.co.uk has been closed down amidst fears of fraud, with thousands of fans warned they may not receive their tickets.

The agency dealt with acts from The Killers to Barry Manilow, and we extremely popular with internet users. Following an investigation by Metropolitan Police the site was shut down on Friday (October 17th) on suspicion of fraud.

Customers have been warned that they may not receive their tickets. Those who purchased goods on their credit card may be able to secure a refund from their card issuers.

A statement on the Paperticket.co.uk website reads:

“On 16 October, the Metropolitan Police Service’s Computer Crime Unit requested the dehosting of the www.paperticket.co.uk website under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

“People who have bought tickets from this site are encouraged to call Consumer Direct for advice on 08454 04 05 06.”

This is not the first time this year fans have been affected by proceedings against a ticket company. More than 4,000 music lovers were left out of pocket when Xclusive Tickets went bust, while SOS Tickets failed to deliver tickets to thousands of music fans.

Papertickets.co.uk remains inactive.
