Thurston Moore's new band Chelsea Light Moving are set to release their self-titled debut album through Matador on March 4th.
With Sonic Youth now seemingly a memory, Thurston Moore has been in a reflective mood. Solo album 'Demolished Thoughts' was a subtle, largely acoustic affair which has been followed by a number of low key shows across Europe and North America.
Thankfully, Thurston Moore has launched Chelsea Light Moving to showcase his love of visceral volume. Working on their debut album, the band have released a series of downloads to whet appetites.
Now the band have outlined plans for their debut album. 'Chelsea Light Moving' will be released on March 4th, with Matador providing a home for the venture. A collective, Thurston Moore joins forces with Samara Lubelski, Keith Wood and John Moloney.
Recorded across two quick fire sessions, the band worked with engineer Justin Pizzoferrato in Sone Lab.
European shows are forthcoming.
