Throwing Muses Announce New Album ‘Moonlight Confessions’

Plus, a companion record is in the works...

Throwing Muses will release new album ‘Moonlight Confessions’.

The new record was produced by Kristin Hersh at Steve Rizzo’s Stable Sound Studio in Portsmouth, sessions that seem to have been extremely creative. Alongside the incoming release, Throwing Muses will also release a companion work – the ingeniously titled ‘Moonlight Confessions’ – exclusively through Rough Trade.

Out on March 14th, ‘Moonlight Confessions’ features nine songs, and it displays a group working with real creative unity. In a note, Throwing Muses explain:

“Our ‘Moonlight Concessions’ are still lighting the way. Not real spectacularly, nothing bright like a spotlight, just a glowing, helping each other home.”

New song ‘Summer Of Love’ is out now – the lyric began after a small-scale bet over the nature of the seasons; one person argued that they don’t change us, and the band disagreed, resulting in this baroque, oddly moving piece.

Kirstin Hersh comments:

“He said we aren’t just planted here, stagnant, we’re in flux, responding to love like octopuses moving across the ocean floor. Turns out he was right, and I still owe him a buck.”

Tune in now.
