Thom Yorke To Score Twilight Sequel

Radiohead singer to contribute to 'New Moon'

Radiohead singer Thom Yorke is set to contribute a track to the soundtrack of the forthcoming vampire film ‘New Moon’.

After the huge success of the recent Radiohead album ‘In Rainbows’ Thom Yorke seems intent on re-visiting his solo career. After Barack Obama’s election victory the singer released an exclusive new remix of a solo track, before appearing at Latitude.

A late addition to the bill, Thom Yorke was a massive success at the South Coast festival. The singer performed solo, gathering an enormous crowd to the Main Stage for his mid-day slot.

Running through songs from his lone solo album ‘The Eraser’ the singer also performed a number of Radiohead tracks. Using a variety of loops and samples Thom Yorke was able to perform entirely solo, with the singer playing piano and guitar during the performance.

Now it seems as though Thom Yorke is due to contribute a new solo track to the forthcoming vampire film ‘New Moon’. Director Chris Weitz claims in a new interview that he is yet to hear the singer’s contribution, but stated it is almost definite the song will appear in the movie.

“I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love,” Weitz told HitFix, adding that Yorke’s effort will be included, “unless it’s sounds of him belching!”

Continuing, the director also confirmed that he expects American singer Bon Iver to feature on the soundtrack. “I think Bon Iver is fantastic,” Weitz said. “He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard.”

Weitz then added that he wants Kings Of Leon to contribute to the movie’s soundtrack. Radiohead, of course, have a long history of film work with the band notably appearing in a recent adaptation of ‘Romeo + Juliet’.

‘New Moon’ is set to be released next year.
