New Order's 'Technique' is one of their boldest, most ambitious, and pop savvy albums.
Remarkably, it turns 30 today (January 30th), a key milestone for the record, one that seemingly hasn't aged.
Built with the inspiration of emerging Chicago house, 'Technique' seemed to match the buzz – ahem! – that was running through Manchester at the time.
The anniversary reached the House Of Commons earlier today when Bristol East MP Kerry McCarthy wore her 'Technique' t-shirt to Prime Minister's Questions.
Now, we're naturally suspicious of politicians wearing their musical tastes on their sleeves, but since it's a genuinely fantastic, often undersung, record we're happy to let those negative feelings slide.
Equally it's nice to see our representatives as people… DJ and writer Dave Haslam spotted it – here's the pic.
