The Who are set to release a lavish 5CD edition of debut album 'My Generation'.
One of the definitive documents of the Mod movement, 'My Generation' sits at the epicentre of soul, R&B, freakbeat, and the burgeoning songwriting genius of Pete Townshend.
Now 50 years old, The Who are planning to release a lavish 5CD edition of 'My Generation', packed with bonus cuts and fresh insight.
The package has been spruced up for re-issue, while an 80 page book includes exclusive reflections on the debut album from Pete Townshend.
Due for release on November 18th, the package contains a total of 79 tracks. Pete Townshend comments: “Gathering these demos for this collection has been enjoyable; it’s wonderful for me to have these tapes made fifty-two years ago to listen to. I hope you enjoy them. They have a naiveté and innocence, a simplicity and directness, and an ingenuousness that reveals me as a young man struggling to keep up with the more mature and developed men around me. What an incredible group of strong, talented, young and engaging men they were!”
The super deluxe edition of 'My Generation' will be released on November 18th.
