Legendary London group The Who are set to release a DVD commemorating one of their landmark 70s performances on NOvember 18th in the US, it has been announced.
The band played a terrific performance at the Gaumont State Theatre in North London on December 15th, 1977 – it was one of the original line ups final performances with each other before the untimely death of drummer Keith Moon the following year.
The Who were full of festive cheer that night, pulling out old favourites such as “Baba O’Reilly” and “My Generation”. The new DVD will also include a 1969 performance from London Coliseum which features plenty of early material – amongst others their cover of the Motown classic “Fortune Teller”. The gig captures The Who as they evolve from a Mod group into a fully fledged stadium band, with the disc featuring the rock opera “Tommy” performed live in its entirety.
The Who will release their new DVD “The Who: At Kilburn 1977” on November 18th in the US.
