The Voidz have shared an eye-catching new video for spooky season.
Julian Casablancas & Co. have been back in the studio, working on the follow-up to 2018 album ‘Virtue’. Recent single ‘Prophecy Of The Dragon’ signalled their re-emergence, catching fans who were basking in the glow of those Strokes summer shows.
Now The Voidz have shared something new. Out now, ‘Flexorcist’ is more than a decent pun – it merges their new wave pop inflections with doses of illicit Prince-style machine funk, and a hefty dose of 80s R&B for good measure.
The single comes back with a wicked, seasonally appropriate two-part video, featuring Mac DeMarco as a Satanic figure. Weyes Blood also has a cameo, with director Johann Rashid – visual artist Promiseland – tasked with corralling this motley crew.
Tune in now.
In New York this week? The Voidz will play a four night, sold out run at Brooklyn’s Murmrr Theatre – their first shows in the NYC area for over four years.
