The View are set to release a seven inch single in celebration of Record Store Day.
The View returned with their third album earlier this year, the back-to-basics indie pop of ‘Bread And Circuses’. Largely written in Liverpool, part of the album process saw the band return home to Dundee.
Causing mayhem in the city, The View revisited old haunts including the Doghouse and local record store Grouchos. Long time supporters of the band, the music shop is a Scottish institution.
Now The View have decided to pay tribute to their local record shop with a new single. Released as part of Record Store Day, ‘I Need That Record’ is a cover of the 80s power pop classic by The Tweeds.

The single will be available as a one sided seven inch and yes, that is Grouchos on the cover. A firm favourite with ClashMusic staff, we have pilfered their racks for many years spending a small fortune in the process.
Kieren Webster, from The View says: “The internet seems to be taking over music and it’s great to support Record Store Day as vinyl sounds so much better and it’s so much more of an experience going to a record store to get your music. The people who work in them are avid music fans willing to help you.”
“Even the simple pleasure of going in and flipping through the second hand bargain bucket is something I still do at least twice a week – think how many bands have been started by like minded musicians who first met in their local record shop. Without independent record shops every local music scene would lose a vital hub. This is why I am very proud to be doing my bit for Record Store Day!”
Meanwhile, The View have confirmed the following in store appearances:

7 Glasgow Love Music
