The Tibbs Deliver Vintage Soul Scorcher ‘Damaged Heart’

Amsterdam collective return...

Record Kicks is a key junction on the global soul underground.

A vital imprint, the label is home to all manner of vintage soul artists, each with their own take on a timeless sound.

Take Amsterdam collective The Tibbs. The group released their sterling 2016 debut album on the Milan based imprint, and followed this with some excellent live shows.

New album 'Another Shot Fired' is the follow up, and it lands on November 20th, with Clash able to share something special up front.

'Damaged Heart' is a soul scorcher, all wailing horns, Stax beat, and that superb, poised vocal.

A brilliant piece of songwriting with a dancefloor flair, it's the perfect platform for Roxanne Hartog's delivery.

The singer comments: "'Damaged Heart' is a love song and “It’s about being in a relationship where something is just slightly off. Sometimes developing serious feelings for someone can be scary. Being vulnerable, and knowing that someone could hurt you very easily can be scary…"

Tune in now.
