Australian outfit The Terrys have shared new single ‘Tokyo’ in full.
The band are the hottest thing out of Gerringong, with their latest album ‘Skate Pop’ out now. Sessions have been ongoing for some time, with The Terrys working in a unified fashion, continually pushing themselves forwards.
In a note, frontman Jacob ‘Finchy’ Finch called the incoming album “a checkpoint of where we’re at and how we’re doing…”
Ahead of this, The Terrys have shared new punk-inflected indie pop rattler ‘Tokyo’. Dosed in their precocious live energy, the sly sense of rebellion at work in their music is enhanced by the lyrics.
A song about working an ordinary nine-to-five job while dreaming of something else, ‘Tokyo’ is all-too-relatable.
“When you don’t have a 9-5 and you just sit with your thoughts, some weird shit can go through your mind,” shares vocalist Jacob ‘Finchy’ Finch.“But with all the songs where it starts off weird, they always come to a point of being ok…. for me, it’s about finding comfort in the discomfort.”
Tune in now.
