The Strokes have confirmed they aim to release a new album "soon".
The New York indie legends played a handful of live shows in 2019, stoking suggestions that new material could be on the way.
It seems that work on a follow up to 2013's 'Comedown Machine' is well under way, with The Strokes opening 2020 in fighting form.
Playing a special New Year show in New York, the band introduced new material, with Julian Casablancas confirming that their next LP is due shortly.
"We have a new album coming out soon," he told the crowd. "Surprise. 2020 here we come… We took the 2010’s – whatever the fuck they’re called – we took ’em off but now we’ve been unfrozen and we’re back."
