The Smile have shared new song ‘Friend Of A Friend’.
The Radiohead side hustle merges Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood with jazz drummer extraordinaire Tom Skinner, with 2022 debut ‘A Light For Attracting Attention’ gaining across the board plaudits.
A series of stunning live performances followed, before The Smile went back into the studio, teasing fans with a series of cryptic clues on Instagram.
Out on January 26th, new album ‘Wall Of Eyes’ was recorded by Oxford and London’s own Abbey Road Studios; produced and mixed by Sam Petts-Davies, the album features string arrangements by the London Contemporary Orchestra.
‘Friend Of A Friend’ shows The Smile at their most direct – succinct (by their towering standards) it achieves a real sense of dynamism.
Tune in now.
Alongside the album release, a full film constructed by motion picture director Paul Thomas Anderson is incoming. The new film will be premiered alongside a surround sound album playback of ‘Wall Of Eyes’ at a series of one-off events, hosted at independent cinemas across the country and beyond between January 18th to 25th.
Tickets will be on sale from 10am GMT on Thursday (January 11th).
