The Rooks Make Their Debut With ‘Lay Me Down’

A fiery introduction to the Glasgow-based outfit...

The Rooks are making their entrance with debut single, ‘Lay Me Down’.

Hailing from Glasgow, the outfit have been making a name for themselves across the local live circuit, re-igniting the spirit of rock n’ roll. ‘Lay Me Down’ is no different, finding a balance between rough and melodic riffs and basslines. Elsewhere, lead vocalist Ross Gardiner pieces together nostalgic, straight-to-the-point hooks and verses.

Joined by guitarists Cameron McKie and Matthew McFayden, bass player Kieran Luddy and drummer Call Mackinnon, The Rooks share a fresh, magnetic energy onstage. Tapping into emotional and introspective themes, the band reflect on the work of Kings Of Leon, The Rolling Stones and The Strokes through a contemporary lens, figuring out their sound with each performance.

‘Lay Me Down’ makes for a bold introduction, commencing a new journey for The Rooks.
