The Phantom Band are set to celebrate the festive season with two nights of live music.
It’s been a hectic 12 months for The Phantom Band. The Glasgow collective released their quite-sublime second album ‘The Wants’ almost exactly a year ago, ushering in a lengthy period of touring.
Swiping a drummer from Bronto Skylift in the process, the band recently settled back down to life in Glasgow. Beginning to make plans for Christmas, The Phantom Band have decided to host a two night festive blow out.
Taking place in their native Glasgow, Phestive Phantomime takes control of Stereo on December 16th and 17th.
Teaming up with art collective 85A, the two nights will mix live music, DJ sets and some groundbreaking visuals. Amongst the artists currently working with the group are Torsten Lauschmann and Rachael MacLean – responsible for the video for The Phantom Band’s ‘Everybody Knows It’s True’.
Franz Ferdinand drummer (and notorious 70s heavy rock fan) Paul Thomson will supply some sounds in a special DJ set, while raucous locals Take A Worm For A Walk Week are set to perform.
Elsewhere, The Phantom Band will host a festive karaoke, while other names on the bill include Holy Mountain, Tuts Vu Vu, Jacob Yates And The Pearly Gate Lockpickers and more. On top of all that, the DJs will be fed through a DIY soundsystem constructed by Robbie Thomson.
Oh – and expect plenty of surprises on the night…
